ICESKATING DOWNTOWN

Karl Johansgate is our main street and right in the middle of it you can go iceskating. It's a very popular place, both for skating and for watching the people.

You can rent skates here if you haven't brought your own, and the prices are 45,- for adults and 30,- for children. You get 5,- in discount if you have the 'Oslo Pass'.

It's free to go skating here, and there is also a place nearby where you can sit down and take something to eat or drink.

The skating rink is open from 11 - 21 every day, from the 1th of December to the 1th of March.

Directions: Karl Johansgate, in the middle of Stortinget (the Parliament) and Nationalteatret (the National Theatre).

SKIING

Tryvann is located just 20 min from the city centre, and can be reached by metro, bus or car. The longest run is 1400 meters, and the longest drop is 381 meters.

They have recently added some new slopes, and there are now 11 slopes with different lenghts and varying difficulties. Plus halfpipe for snowboarding. Many of the hills are floodlit so you can go skiing in the evening too.

You can rent skiequipment, so you don't have to bring your own. And there are some different schools if you would like to learn skiing or snowboarding.
