West Virginia is the perfect get-away from the stresses of life. Here life is simple and people are friendly. The state is incredibly clean and has excellent roads. Charleston is a very cosmopolitan city with a vibrant downtown. Charleston Town Center is a huge downtown mall which connects to the old downtown Charleston with its stunning architecture and elegant stores. Downtown hotels such as the Marriott and Embassy Suites are first rate. The skyline is stunning from across the Kanawha River. Tasteful highrise contemporary buildings mingle with beautifully renovated older structures. The magnificent state capitol building and complex is a must to see. A walking tour along Kanawha Boulevard shows beautiful riverfront homes and art deco apartments. Every time I visit West Virginia I am amazed at all it has to offer. The state has shed its undeserved image as a hick state. See it for yourself and be prepared to fall in love with this magnificent piece of America. |
