The following is just a brief info of Savannah, MORE with photos, will be added later, time allows.
There are many bed and breakfasts in Savannah. Try to stay one in the historic district, and park your car at the property so that you can walk around within the historic area (no need to drive).
The architecture in Savannah is very different from that in Charleston, SC, there are more Georgian style ones in Savannah while more Victorian ones in Charleston, SC.
The unique thing there is that almost each intersection inside the historic district is a small garden like park. Its riverfront is nice as well.
If you want to see the countryside, you can drive about 30 minutes to the Tybie Island along the sea shore, there is a light house you can climb up to the top to have a view.
