Wonderful castle in the south of Moravia - a part of Czech Republic.
I love this place !

Famous chateau in a village of the same name close to the Austrian border.
From 13th century until 1945 property of the Liechtensteins, serving as their summer residence.
Originally a Gothic fort was rebuilt into a renaissance and later baroque chateau, the latest reconstruction dates 1846-56 in neo-gothic style.
A parish church forms part of the chateau buildings, and they house the National museum of agriculture.
A Palm Greenhouse from the 1845 has tropical vegetation.

French park on a terrace with sculptural ornaments, fountains and an artificial cave in the open landscape park.
A number of specially laid-out vistas and folies fishponds and the river Dyje.

A Minaret of 1797 – 1802 in Mooorish style, 60 m high, with a viewing gallery reached up 302 steps.

John´s castle – a romantic summer palace, imitation ruins of a mediaeval castle.

Oter folies in the park are for example Temple of Apollo, Little border Chateau, New Homestead, Rendez-Vous, St. Hubert or the Three Graces.

The Lednice – Valtice area – a territory of lakes and marshland, which, from the middle ages, has gradually been changed by Man into an ecologically balanced, harmonious countryside with interesting monuments, which fit smoothly into the natural landscape of the lower Dyje basin.
The two main chateaux, Lednice and Valtice, are linked by straight, tree-lined avenues and there are also a number of lakes and canals.
