The verdict was unanimous...the CHATUCHAK WEEK-END MARKET was definitely the major highlight of our shopping excursions. Too many shops, too little time! Us females had to be dragged kicking and screaming by our male relatives out of the market to head off to our next stop.

So many stalls, so little time! You can find anything you ever wanted (or never thought you wanted) to buy in Chatuchak. A shopper's paradise! Too bad they're only open on the week-end.

The Wat Traimit (Temple of the Golden Buddha)... ...houses a large, 5-ton, solid gold Buddha which was once encased in stucco. The statue was dropped by accident, revealing the true treasure inside.

Shopping is also great around the Pratunam area... ...where you can get excellent bargains on clothes, bags, and other accessories. It's also where several popular hotels are located, including the Baiyoke, so you won't have to wade through Bangkok's notorious traffic jams to make the most of your bahts.
