PIGEON FORGE AND THE SMOKY MOUNTAIN AREA ARE PROBABLY ONE OUR FAVORITE VACATION SPOTS. THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AND WE ALWAYS SEEMED TO RUN OUT OF TIME AND MONEY BEFORE WE WERE READY TO LEAVE.I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT IN THE FALL WHEN THE FOLIAGE IS COLORFUL,BUT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN BEAUTIFUL IN THE SUMMER ALSO.

OMGoodness - your "Beware the Bears" tip had me rolling! Too funny!!
This is absolutely correct. If you manage your gears and use selective braking you will have the brakes when you need them. Smell a metalic burn in Gatlinburg? That's someone who cooked their brakes coming down from Clingman's Dome.
Neither I nor the wife liked this place! Very low-rate and the food was not very good. Yes, it was cheap, and the quality reflected the price.
Very interesting page! My time in Pigeon Forge was too brief and mostly spent in traffic. :) Great to read about some of the attractions here. And thanks for visiting my Sequoia p
We loved Pigeon Forge! We got married there. One thing we found that we needed to pack were jackets for the mountains. It was warm in the 70's in town, but up in the mountains it was freezing!
John...great restaurant and hotel tips. Honest, helpful tips...great warning about shifting down to save brakes (we do that, too). Smokies are one of my favorite memories. Thanks for rekindling that spark.
