Knoxville,Tennessee was the home of the 1982 World's Fair.There were twenty two countries involved displaying exhibits,four U.S. states and several private organizations.The fair opened on May 1 and closed on October 31,1982 and grounds covered about 70 acres.
The theme of the World's Fair was "Energy Turns the World",but a lot of the most popular exhibits were more cultural than energy related.The most popular exhibits were from Peru,China ,and Egypt .Peru exhibited cultural artifacts ,including a mummy.Egypt xhibited a collection of ancient treasures,and the Chinese exhibit was so popular that there was a four hour waiting line.

The Sunsphere was a wonderful place. I remember having dinner there one night and going to a GREAT party there once. The food was exceptional and the view of the city was awesome.
