I lived in England in 1965-66 and again in 1967-68. I returned in 1971 for 3 wks and in 1985 for 3 wks. I have newly discovered family in the UK, and I travelled to the UK in June-July 2002. I had a wonderful time seeing old friends, and visiting new family.
I started in London, travelled to Brentwood, Essex, then to the lovely historical town of Lavenham, Suffolk, then to Lincoln and out west toward Mabelthorpe, to Maltby le Marsh. I then went to Grimsby and took the train to Sheffield where I stayed with my brother for 3 days. We went on a visit to the Peak District.
After that, it was on to Penrith in the Lake District, and I enjoyed touring around with friends who live there...beautiful part of the country.
I then returned to London for a day and out to Bexleyheath in Kent for 2 days. I visited my old flat, and my school that I attended in 65-66, has it really been over 35 yrs?
Next I went down to South Wales, to Bridgend, to meet my relatives, and to tour around seeing the countryside and the seaside. I really enjoyed my time there.
Back to London for 2 days...and home...it was all over so fast.
