Sleat or Sloten is the smallest of the frysian eleven cities.

Only about .... live here! In this time of year it is utterly quiet in town.

But when all the canals in Friesland are frozen and stated safe for skating, it gets a busy town. The town floods with people on the day of the "Elfstedentocht", which is a marathon of iceskating of approx. 200 km.

Elfsteden stands for eleven cities. Sleat or Sloten is the smallest of them.
