"Nasjonal Park Dovrefjell" Dovrefjell by Roeffie

Dovrefjell Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 7 photos

Dovrefjell is a national park of 256 km². This park lies Northeast of Dombås. It became a National park in June 1974.
You can reach this park through the E6 Highway from Oslo to Trondheim. There are a lot of indigenous plants over here and a lot of animals like: Reindeer, a lot of different birds like eagles, hawks and so on and some animals I just know the Dutch word for like Muskusos and Veelvraat. (if someone knows the right translation please let me know)

There also is a real Norwegian horse breeding farm, which breeds horses called Fjordinger in Norwegian. It's a beautiful horse to see.

A good place to stop is the Kongsvoll Fjellstue. It's a hotel with a small Visitor center in it about Dovrefjell. It is directly at E6 Highway.

Next to this Fjellstue there is a small botanical garden with native plants.

Another place to stop is the National Horse Station. You leave the E6 at Hjerkinn and take the 29 Road to Dalen, then turn left at Einunndalstollroad to Bekkelegret, the Horse Station.

There are a lot of fjordings there.
