A very impressive castle!

by Roeffie - last update: Sep 3, 2003

From about 1600 to 1720 when the royal family moved from Hillerød to Fredensborg. This was the place where the royal family lived, received their important guests etc. Nowadays the Castle is a museum, The Museum of Danish history. The Castle has a huge collection of paintings, gobelins and furniture.

Go through this page to get to know the castle virtually.

Frederiksborg is one of my all-time favorites. Who says England, France, and Germany have a monopoly on great castles and palaces? Love the elevator!

I loved my day at Frederiksborg. A lot of history in that castle.
