Hi everyone and WELCOME to my "paradise".
Well, Mauritius is great and best known for the three S: Sea, Sun, S..and. The island, of about one million inhabitants, is found in the Indian Ocean amd Port-louis is the capital. We are best known for our extinct Dodos that did not survive the first visitors who were dying for food. " As lazy as a Dodo" some would say so are most of us- Mauritians.
I just finished reading a book- quite dramatic- which was written by Bernardin De St Pierre in 1787. It is the story of a family who lived on the island during the 18th century and it is just amazing the way everything is being described- the landscape, the agriculture, the way of living, slavery...
but most of all it is a story of two young people who would die for love!
But Mauritius today is much more fund, with all our colours, differences and religion, there is always new things to do and new places to discover...
