Lindau, the "Happy end of Germany"?? What the heck where they thinking when they come out with this slogan for the town? :) Lindau is located on the eastern end of the lake Bodensee (or Constance, it's the same lake that borders with Germany, Swizerland and Austria). Lindau is also the start (or end if you preffer so) or the Deutsche Alpenstrasse (or the German Alpine Road in translation). It's main attraction is the island with the promenade and marina. The townhall and the overpriced (but not so bright) hotels are also to be found on the island.
