All-season health and holiday resort of national importance, situated in SE central Romania, within the purview of commune Maneciu (Prahova County), on the river Teleajen, in the Teleajen hollow, at the foot of Ciucas Mountains (Eastern Carpathians), elevation 871m, 61 km N of Ploiesti (seat of Prahova county).
Tonic-stimulant intramontane-depression climate, highly ozoniferous air. Cool summers (July average temperature about 16°C) and not too cold winters (January average 4°C below). Average annual temperature about 6°C. Moderate precipitation (750-800 mm annually); relatively high humidity of air (over 76% annually). |
