Amsterdam - capital of the Netherlands - Amsterdam

I've been looking foward to quite some time to visit Amsterdam. That's because every friend of mine that went there had recommended me as a must see destination. Being the Netherland's capital, one traveller visiting this nice country will surely end up (or begin with) visiting Amsterdam.

I was impressed first of all by Amsterdam's history, from the first settlement to the building of the semi-circular canals and houses, forming the city. For this, the Amsterdam History Museum is the best place to learn about it.

Amsterdam is a lively city, with much to see and do, from the impressive Main Station, along the canals, with the trams or by foot, or even by the all-arround bikes, to the pot smoking coffe-shops and the famous Red Light District.

This page is bursting with information!!! You did a fantastic job on this one! Lots of major works are moved from Amsterdam to Antwerp during restoration; exhib. = called "Rijksmuseum aan de Schelde".
