Prien am Chiemsee (Prien on the lake Chiemsee) is the town from which you can take the boat to see the castle Herrenchiemsee, on the island with the same name, in the middle of the lake Chiemsee.

The most unforgettable memory of Prien am Chiemsee is the steam tram going from the city center to the marina, still functional. It gives a special charm to see the small little steamer carrying tourists on those old tracks.
