I was really in luck with a great weather. Bad weather definitely distort your perspective of a new city that you visit. The true beauty of Prague together with this nice weather, made me to instantly fall in love with this city. The River Vltava crossing trough Prague is really large and it is a wonderful feature of the city. Because of it, there are bridges and you can have cruises with the boats.

This picture is taken from a terrace of the Hrad Castle (which is a must visit). From this angle Prague seems much alike Paris with its magnificent bridges over Vltava, nice red roofs and green vegetation.

The largest (widest) bridge in Prague and the most scenic is of course Karluv Most (Charles Bridge). People - tourist or locals - enjoy walking up and down on it, and watch the performers like this band do their thing or sell nice souvenirs (paintings in oil, mugs and stuff).

I liked this church very much. In fact the whole Old Town Square is great. One distinctive feature, beside of course the pointed roof, is the fact that the lower part main facade is hidden from one's eyes behing some new 'italian style' buildings.
The U Matky Bozi Pred Tynem (original czech name) was built in 1365, has 80 meter tall towers, and the whole interior is gothic style dating from the 15th century.

Visiting either the Nove Mesto (The New City) or Stare Mesto (The Old City), the housing architecture is striking, beside the plentitude of towers (tip: climb into the Powder Tower to see a wonderful presentation of Pragues recent and old towers), every house looks incurrable romantic.
Wouldn't you just love to live in a house like this one in the picture?

Hradnacy fortress can be considered as a city inside the city - like Vatican City - here, beginning with the IXth century to the XXIth, was home for generations of czech royalty. King Karel IV was the first to command the building of Saint Vit Cathedral in 1344. Inside the fortress you will find many points of interest like: Mathias Gate, The Chapel of The Saint Cross, National Gallery, Spanish Hall, Notre Dame, Powder Tower, The Old Royal Palace, All Saints Church, The St.Gheorghe Churc and Monastery, Golden Street, White Tower and other.

I took this picture which looks like a postcard :) from the nice Powder Tower (Prasna Brana) - built in 1475, 65 meters high, for which I had to climb the 186 stairs to the roof's four viewing points. Two of these viewing points looks out to the Old Town Square, projecting the pointing roofs of the Tyn Church into the sky.

Entry to the Hradkany Fortress - Hrad Castle by the Mathias Gate wich is guarded by soldiers (you can take a picture with them in the frame). This first Maria Terezian style gate, with big statues, leads to the first square on the castle.

Changing guard on a castle is always a very tasted moment. Tried to capture them in motion, but they were very serious about that and did not pose 'eyes-wide-shut' for my camera :) Interesting how everybody else but them freezes and stares at the poor guys :)

Something like the Tyn Church, the very large Saint Vitus Cathedral view is blocked by the building between Hrad's Squares.
