The foreign city I've visited most frequently My sixth time in Vienna was in August 2008, after Sankt Wolfgang, I stayed two nights in Vienna.
My fifth time in Vienna was in November 2007 when I did not actually stayed the night, but came in Austria to make holiday shopping at SCS and then take some hours to walk in Vienna.
My fourth time in Vienna was in August 2007, when I learned that they take it very serious with St. Mary - August 15th, when absolutely all shops are closed. Exactly when I was keen to make some shopping in SCS (Shopping City Sud) :(
My third time in the wonderful Austrian capital was in November 2006 when I went for a four days stay to relax and visit the Christmas markets, the Zoo (which I missed visiting previously) and to go to a spa (not very close - but 120km south - at Bad Tatzmandorf).
Christmas spirit comes early in Vienna - nice wooden stands with lights, selling 'soul products' like toys, sweets, handmade decorative objects, and of course the Punch stalls, where people come together for the hot punch beverage, holding a cup and chatting during the evening into the night.
This time I caught the 'shopping virus' .. really .. this is dangerous for your credit card balance .. once you start shopping you can't stop. It happened that for the first time my shopping bill was more than the hotel bill :) Actually not so funny, but I am really satisfied by the things I bought for me and as gifts - Vienna is a heaven for women and men as well when it comes to clothes - famous names or just good, nice and affordable products in C&A and H&M stores all around Vienna (Mariahilfestrasse, SCS ..) |
| | Vienna is the capital of Austria, and also one of the nine of Austria's federal states. Situated on the river Danube (the one that flows into the Black Sea exactly in my country), Vienna is surrounded by the Austrian federal state of Lower Austria. With a population of about 1,6 million people, Vienna is the largest city and the cultural and political center of Austria.
This city is definitely on my top10 cities list and it's going to stay there. It has, at least for me, a special charm, that something that attracts you and makes you want to come back every year. Vienna has a lot to offer, from sights, culture and history, nice people and overall that special atmosphere. I really felt that this city doesn't have the offices and the day troubles we all have, but that is all royal and elegant. |
| | Vienna Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world and it is adjacently to Schonbrunn palace. You will need at least four hours, preferably six, to visit the whole zoo. It was my first time seeing a real life hippo and rhino :) Choose a warmer season to have all the animals wandering in their gardens.
Tell you one thing - Vienna is a must see city. Definitely a top20 to see before you die.
Please visit my following pages about my trip to Vienna in 2003, 2005 and 2006 and feel free to rate whatever you found useful or/and with nice pictures :) Best regards to you all! |
