Do stay a night in Lucca as you will need at least one day to truly discover the city of Lucca. While in Tuscany you will definitely have to visit Lucca, giving its most great features: the incredible walls - walkable - that fully surrounds the city, all beautiful old buildings and narrow streets, the ancient Roman amphiteatre (now a beautiful piazza surrounded by houses), Torre Guingi - a tower with trees on top, the Clock Tower and some nice churches. |

Maurizioago Fri Sep 18, 2009 09:52 UTC Olio piccante; not oglio picanto. The building of the walls began during Roman times. Ciao! | Andraf Tue Oct 10, 2006 17:38 UTC Good page with lots of good info. I've been to Tuscany twice but haven't made it to Lucca yet. Definitely will go next time :) | Diana75 Wed Sep 6, 2006 14:21 UTC Fantastic destination... if you don't park in the wrong place :) We had to pay a penalty of 35 euro, but a stop in Lucca deserves the money... Wonderful pictures. |
