I guess the VT member Leipzig adviced me to visit Dinkelsbuehl, and not only Rothenburg ob der Tauber while on the Romantische Strasse. Indeed, Dinkelsbuehl is a smaller medieval fortress city, like Rothenburg, with its walls and towers still intact and with lovely houses. Dinkelsbuehl is more quiet and less touristic, so you can enjoy your own private walk, follow and read about each tower and historic houses and taste the same german cuisine here like in its bigger sister city.

Cute pics & details. For some reason it reminds me of Sibiu!
Thanks for the great pictures and comments. WE are planning a trip to Munich and up to Romantic Road. You did a fine job of describing this town.
Beautiful village, the one we didn't get to and maybe should have. Lot less tourists than Rothenberg ( which we loved anyway ). And nice images esp of the towers. N.
Interesante locuri, pline de istorie, traditie si credinta. Pozele sunt superbe! Gabriela
I guess builder Antonio Don did not have cars in mind when he built that tower in the 1600's ;-) Very nice tips, I will be here this summer and now I have some things to look for. :-)
Nice and well documented page on Dinkelsbuehl. Just want to add that Dinkelsbuehl got also famous within the ethnic Germans born in Romania who are now living in FRG. Those Germans originating from Romania, hold a big festival once a year in Dinkelsbuehl.
an interesting page & great pics !
Nice start. I went to Rothenberg with a group way back in 1987.
