I was looking forward to see Venice. I knew it was relatively close and I could visit anytime. June 2006 was the time, when I planned a trip to Italy, so logically the first destination was Venice. Maybe one day it is too little to see it all, but enough to get you in the mood and understand why all the people around the world is talking about Venice. Especially people in the US are totally in love with Venice - as they are with Italy in general as a country (as much as they hate France), Venice is crowded with Americans, but it didn't feel crowded like lets say in Sorrento or Florence. The idea is I felt in love with Venice, it narrow streets leading to small bridges, with the atmosphere, San Marco with the zillions of pigeons, Canal Grande, restaurants, ice cream and more. Now I can't wait to get back and stay more :) |
