My first time in Nice - September 2007 - I choose off-season to fully enjoy it and then go to Provence. After spending four days in Nice I was satisfied that I choose Nice as a base point for my sightseeing of Côte d'Azur.

Now I can say Nice is a truly great summer destination, with a lot of attractions. It is reachable by plane, having one of the busiest airport in the south of France. Hotels are plenty, eating is a pleasure, sights are great, trip opportunity infinite. And the sea is superb, Promenade des Anglais is maybe the biggest strip where you can walk all day. The beach is specific, meaning its not sandy but rocky, but buying a special set of sandals will resolve this problem and you can enjoy the nice clear water of the Mediterrana.
