I visited Luxor in 1995, during which short trip I visited the temples of Karnak and Luxor as well as the Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the very interesting and thought-provoking Colossi of Memnon.<p> More recently, I lived for three months in Egypt, from early December 1997 through end of February 1998. I spent two weeks in Aswan on the Nile, a week or so at a snorkel and dive camp on a remote beach by the Red Sea, about five weeks in Alexandria and a month in the Sahara Desert oasis of Siwa, near Libya.<p>
