As always and especially in Egypt...taxis. I gave up on them. Trams are best. Buses are OK if you get them from the periphery going in...I defy anyone from the 'West' to get a seat or even a hanging place on the outside, if travelling from the centre out. I did once manage to get a hanging place...never again![pic: the beautiful sea near the quite romantic San Stefano Hotel near Chatby]

Watch out for touts/pimps etc around Ramla, but they are amiable: ie. if you smile (or grimace) and say no thanks and keep walking, they will not press.
