  • We stayed in a double room with ensuite which was as comfortable as any 3 star hotel room I have stayed in. The room had a heater, was very clean and was serviced daily. The walls were a little thin though and so being a backpacker style hostel it could get a little noisy in the corridors. We paid $80 for a lake view room and that included a full cooked and continental breakfast (2 people) which is really good value for Queenstown.

Unique Qualities: This backpacker style accommodation has its own restaurant & bar, internet access, tv/video/games room, tennis court and amazing spa facility. There are three private spas available and one public one which all open out with views over the lake.

  • I haven't stayed at this resort but my boyfriend has. On our trip to Queenstown he took me here to show me around.

Millbrook offers package deals that can make a stay there more affordable for those who want a taste of luxury!

Unique Qualities: Millbrook is resort that targets mainly international visitors. There is an excellent golf course and the cottages that guests stay in a very "English". There is also a Spa that the women can enjoy while their partners are on the golf course!

  • I didn't stay in the Heritage Queenstown as it was beyond my budget for the trip I made however I have stayed in their hotels in Auckland and I took a look at the facilities while I was there. It is a classy hotel and in my opinion one of the nicer hotels in Queenstown.

Unique Qualities: Although the Heritage is located at Fernhill which is a little out of town it offers some really stunning views of Lake Whakatipu and The Remarkables.

overcrowded, 1 hour 25 minutes to wait after being told 20 minites, stroppy waitress, rude, arrogant and aggresive. pasta sloped up, Pizza was nice but have had better, would not return when busy, very expensive Pizza, apart from that it was great!!

Great informative and useful tips! Must skiing at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables (only try Treble Cone during my NZ millenium trip) as the skiing season will be soon over in the Swiss Alps ;-( When does the NZ snow season begin?
