We stayed in a double room with ensuite which was as comfortable as any 3 star hotel room I have stayed in. The room had a heater, was very clean and was serviced daily. The walls were a little thin though and so being a backpacker style hostel it could get a little noisy in the corridors. We paid $80 for a lake view room and that included a full cooked and continental breakfast (2 people) which is really good value for Queenstown.
Unique Qualities: This backpacker style accommodation has its own restaurant & bar, internet access, tv/video/games room, tennis court and amazing spa facility. There are three private spas available and one public one which all open out with views over the lake.

I haven't stayed at this resort but my boyfriend has. On our trip to Queenstown he took me here to show me around. Millbrook offers package deals that can make a stay there more affordable for those who want a taste of luxury!
Unique Qualities: Millbrook is resort that targets mainly international visitors. There is an excellent golf course and the cottages that guests stay in a very "English". There is also a Spa that the women can enjoy while their partners are on the golf course!

I didn't stay in the Heritage Queenstown as it was beyond my budget for the trip I made however I have stayed in their hotels in Auckland and I took a look at the facilities while I was there. It is a classy hotel and in my opinion one of the nicer hotels in Queenstown.
Unique Qualities: Although the Heritage is located at Fernhill which is a little out of town it offers some really stunning views of Lake Whakatipu and The Remarkables.
