Viña is a city in the Vth Region of Chile located on the seaside just north of Valparaiso. Viña is a summer hangout for Santiaguinos but also has a large population of residents all year round. Although it is located next to the beach it is more city-like than beach-resort like. The beaches alongside Viña del Mar are not actually apt for swimming although in the heat of summer of course people go into the water. |
|  | Nightlife Viña has a very active nightlife with pubs, restaurants and places to dance. The waterfront area is also developed in an attractive way making it a pleasant place to walk around. |

Vina del Mar is a nice beach town, saw it in a documentary recently and decided to check it out in VT :) |
