I was raised in Fresno. Yes, Yosemite is a must, so is going up to Pine Flat Dam and rafting down the river. Shaver lake, now that is some of the coldest water I have ever seen that didn't have ice floating in it. Fresno is hot in the summer 104-110 is normal.
