Peterborough is in the heart of the Monadnock Region. Many artists and writers live here and Peterborough is also said to have inspired Thornton Wilder's "Our Town". It's along route 101 which is a lovely drive and less than an hour from Manchester. As you drive west on route 101 from Peterborough you will come to the town of Keene, a college town that has the distinction of having the widest Main Street in the United States. It's also the home of the Cuddle Toys company.
This area is so picturesque it's referred to as Currier and Ives country |
