    Getting TO/AROUND: We hopped a train to St. Andrews to find the train stopped about 5 miles away. We shared a cab for the last leg of the journey with an accomodating couple for where else - the US.

    The railway branch line that once ran right through the heart of the St Andrews links into the town was abandoned in the 1960s and Leuchars Junction is now the nearest station. London to Aberdeen express services stop at Leuchars and there are frequent commuter trains from Edinburgh and Dundee.

    If you have a car, from Edinburgh the M90 motorway heads north over the Forth Road Bridge towards Perth. The A91 to St Andrews is clearly signposted, leaving the motorway just beyond Kinross and the journey takes little more than an hour. The trip from Dundee is only about 20 minutes.
