Molly Malone - Dublin

Molly Malone

Dublin Tourism Center Tourist Information Review

Favorite thing: The Statue of Molly Malone stands outside the Dublin Tourism Center on Suffolk Street at the heart of Dublin's city center. This tourist office was one time St. Andrew's Church. Besides finding accomodations and information on Dublin, there is a great Tourist literature and book shop which is open all year round.

While waiting for your enquiry number to be called, the visitor can relax in Fionn McCools Sandwich Bar.

address: Suffolk Street, Dublin 2

Fondest memory: I'll miss the friendly banter and Irish lilt of the voices when they're giving you you don't understand.

Off and On Bus

Favorite thing: The first thing you must do is take a tour on the one of the hop off - hop on buses. We took the City Tour, Dublin Sightseeing bus. It's a great way to get your bearings, learn about the city's monuments and decide what you would like to see. City tour has 23 stops at Dublin's historic and cultural highlights. The complete tour lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Their pamphlet gives you a short history of the stops and are numbered on the map so you will know where the bus will be stopping next. The times are even listed so you know when the bus will be returning to the stop you are visiting. If you are going to be in Dublin for three days they sell 3-day passes at a discount.

If the wind is blowing in Dublin and you're from a warm climate like California, riding the bus is much more comfortable than fighting the wind.

Check with your hotel or a tourist office for the location of the bus stop nearest you or look for the green tour bus sign usually with the local bus stop signs.

Fondest memory: There is many historical sights to see and always a festive air about Dublin.
