This is a string of barrier islands off of the coast of North Carolina. From the moment you drive across the Currituck Sound you realize this place is different from your typical 'beach town'.

Despite the growth over the last 20 years that I have been going there, it retains it’s charm.

Some of the more notable towns are Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head. While you are there you should also visit Roanoke Island, they have a marine science museum, beautiful English gardens, and the play "The Lost Colony". The play is the story of the first settlers (anglo) to the island and their unsolved disappearance.

Some of the most beautiful sunsets can be seen setting over the waters between the islands and the main land.
