Poona, also called Pune, is the cultural capital of Maharashtra. This is the place where the festival - Ganesh Chaturthi first originated.

It is also called the city of students because of the numerous schools and colleges here. Since I was living as a student here, I can tell you more about it. The locals are extremely insensetive to the need of students, esp bachelors. Most of the neighbourhoods dont allow owners to rent apartments to bachelors.

But dont worry, its not all that bad :). It still is the best place in Maharashtra.
