Just storage for now

4Aug07--Mexico, close for years yet unknown to me, until recently. There was that time long ago when I went to visit S., where it turned out I liked Mexico more than she did. But I went on with my life in Europe for years, *that* was familiar, I was Euro-centric...

I went back to Mexico in 2005, stayed there just long enough to learn some castellano to continue across Latin and South America, on a long bus trip to Argentina. After the trip was done, I wanted to go back and live in Mexico, it was my leitmotiv. I went back in 2006 and stayed there three months. Unforgettable, but I should have been better prepared. I still want to live there but les choses de la vie are keeping me in my own country. Also, I got tired of the daily battle to solve the simplest thing. I wanted to register for courses in castellano but I was stuck with accommodation issues that kept getting worse and costing me too much. I'm not complaining, I still think of living there and maybe I will when I can do it with more peace of mind.
