MAYAN RIVIERA

by hayward68 - last update: Mar 20, 2006

Visited Mayan Riviera in November of 2000 and liked it so much going back for New Year's 2002 but trying a different resort.
My first time there was a busy week of scuba diving, snorkelling, jungle trekking, kayaking, sunbathing and everything else I could find to do. What a great vacation!
If you're interested in seeing info for Cozumel, an island very close to Cancun, please check out my Mexico page, I've stayed on the island of Cozumel twice.

Pros:"Sun, sand and surf!"
Cons:"Having to leave :-("
In A Nutshell:"Avoid the crowds of Cancun and head south!"

Hi, Laura! Long time no see! Marvellous remote places to visit! Thanks for your wonderful stories and pictures! :---:-

The "poisonous" trees are called che chen, and the nasty rash can only be healed by a mush made of the bark of a chakah tree, which is always found near a che chen, a good thing!
