The Lake District in Cumbria is a huge tourist destination attracting approximately 18 million visitors each year. There are numerous towns to use as our base, such as Windermere (one of the busier lakes), Ambleside and Keswick. Hiking is a popular pasttime and there are trails for everyone, from gentle strolls to more challenging hikes up the peaks. The Lake District is definitely a destination worth exploring. |
