Liverpool was once England's main transatlantic port and it's quite evident once you arrive there. Unfortunately it was bombed quite heavily during the 2nd World War so many of the old buildings are no longer standing. Those that still stand are situated quite nicely along the Mersey river and make quite a nice view from the other side and from the ferry. The docklands has undergone major redevelopment and is now an area of musuems, shops and restaurants, quite a pleasant place to spend some time.
Of course, Liverpool is also the home of the Beatles and you'll quickly see evidence of this while strolling through the town.

Hey Laura that's Interesting, Kingston also has a pump museum (sorta) :) What a place with a story book to tell when looking at it. That Lotus looks like a McLaren. Great journey!

Nice work Laura. We're hoping to go on a day-trip to Liverpool soon. Liverpool was voted European Capital of Culture for 2008, which should bring big increase in tourism.
