York is a lovely city visited by thousands of visitors every year, the most notable attraction being York Minster. The history of this city dates back to at least the Romans who called it Eboracum and was subsequently occupied by both the Anglo Saxons, naming it Eoforwic and the Danes and later called Jorvik. I'm not going to give you the potted history of this city, but it's filled with remnants of its rich history wherever you wander. From the city wall to the Shambles to the Minster, there is much to see and do. I'd definitely recommend at least a couple of days to explore the city and soak up the history of this delightful place. |

hunterV Sun Jan 18, 2009 16:37 UTC So many "musts" there... Thanks for sharing, Laura! | leila_alice Fri May 11, 2007 15:28 UTC Rubicon is now closed. Replaced by the wonderful cocktail bar Bobo Lobo's. Mexican and other "Latin American" food is available. Reasonable, not wonderful. But the cocktails are fabulous. | kris-t Thu Apr 6, 2006 20:29 UTC Great page! thank you for sharing | Vitalia Mon Aug 23, 2004 21:25 UTC It very nice..great photos and info! |
