"Climbing Kili" Kilimanjaro National Park by hayward68

Mt Kilimanjaro was a place that had been on my wish list for years. It most likely started with reading "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" by Ernest Hemingway and from then on I just had to see this majestic mountain.

I convinced a VT friend to join me and the two of us met at the departure gate at Heathrow Airport, after I'd flown in from Toronto, for our flight to Nairobi, Kenya on Feb 1 arriving late that evening. We hadn't seen each other in 7 years so we had plenty to talk about during our 9 hour shuttle bus ride to Moshi, Tanzania the next day.

We arrived in Moshi and the next day started our hike via the Lemosho route. Read on for my tips on what I learned that trip.
