FUKUYAMA was essentially a fling for me. I didn't know I wanted to be there until I was there! That's the beauty of traveling with JR (Japan Rail); with a glimpse of the city from the platform, one could decide to explore or not to. Fortunately for me, I was not dozing off on my way from Hiroshima to Nagoya (on the 3-hour journey). While the shinkansen was making a brief stop at Fukuyama I caught sight of the castle right from the train & decided to check it out. & I was not disappointed :) As a friend just reminded me, spontaneity is always good, though I don't fully agree, in this case, he's right! |
