The GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK was a surprise. We didn't know what we were in for so we didn't really plan much time to be spent here. Since it was on our way back to El Paso from Carlsbad Caverns we thought we'd stopover for an hour or so, to have a look at what it's all about. No one has ever talked about it & seems like not many had seen it either. & what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be!

In fact, this has turned out to be the most scenic landscapes we had came across for our 3-day trip to White Sands National Monument & Carlsbad Caverns. Even from afar, we could tell it was special. As with people we come into contact with, sometimes we can tell at first glance if he/she is going to make a lasting impression. Guadalupe is one such encounter!

great photos! Sooner or later, I'm going to visit the Guadalupe Mts. Must be some interesting hikes there.

It would take a heap of water to make this place exquisitely beautiful, but I admit I was startled to find true mountains in southwest Texas.
