SAN MARINO - no, this is not the country in Europe, this is a neighborhood town of Los Angeles.

I was on my way to Argentina for my cruise to Antarctica. But due to the way airfares are being priced, it makes economical sense to fly north to U.S. & then back down south again to Argentina instead of flying across south to Argentina direct. Well, that's the economic part of life. & in some ways or another, we are all governed by global competition.

Sometimes, it can be as ridiculous as having to pay less for a 24 hour flight than a 3 hour flight! That's just the world is. No need to understand why it's the way it is, but you need to know how it all works out if you want to take advantage of pricing policy.

This was my numerous times to L.A. in recent years & Ann had been asking me where I'd like to venture to this time. Well, I had never been to Huntington Library so thought it might be a good idea to check out the place. It's a botanical garden with lots of huge cactus & Mei had told me it's a very interesting place; something unique.

It turns out that a few local VTers would like to join us. So, we all had a San Marino VT Meet instead, on that hot sunny afternoon right after my 16-hour flight!
