I love JOKULSARLON! No words will ever describe this place & no photos will ever do justice (although you just might get a good glimpse of it in James Bond next release "DIE ANOTHER DAY")! In the mean time, please enjoy these photos of mine.
Jokulsarlon is in fact a glacial lagoon where ice adrift in the 100 m deep lagoon. Water temperature is around 2 degrees centigrade & the lagoon is located on the southern side of Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajokull (8500 sq. km.). To get here, we actually had to fly from Reykjavik on Iceland domestic airline Air Iceland & it took us about 50 mins to get to Hofn. We were lucky to be onboard the 20-seater plane & were told that one has to book way in advance to get on this flight. But as I always believe, if it's meant to be, you'll get to see it!
Believe! Miracles can & do happen! |
