Sharrie's Pisa Physics

by Sharrie - last update: Mar 28, 2004

PISA's famous LEANING TOWER (TORRE PENDENTE) is what everyone is here for. Considered one of the 7 wonders of the world, this amazing campanile has left the world amazed at its structurally flawed architecture.

The Leaning Tower was built as the bell tower of Pisa's cathedral. It is 55 m (179 ft) high & 4.6 m (15 ft) out of perpendicular. It has 294 steps & the angle of inclination produced a disorienting sensation when climbed.
