Please let me tell you some informatioon about Murmansk.

This harbour northern-most city in Russia is located at 69C N. This city experienced 1st and 2nd World War because of its good location.

Upon arrival from the airport, southeast 40kms from city of Murmansk, turn left as you can find the bus stop numbor 106 to town. It takes not more 1 hour and may cost you 8.4p, the bus sevice is very convenience and starts to operate from 04:00am - 02:00am the next day. The journey to town ends up at front of Artica Meridien Hotel [Tel 7 (8152) 557 - 876]. If you are new to Murmansk, this hotel is very important to know its location so that you can hide your self and to warmth you up before finding the hotel you are actually going to stay. Believes that it takes only 2 minutes walk from the bus terminal.

Start your journey in Murmansk from the Railway Station. There is big space (plazza) at the front of the station. A street of florist shops at the right hand side and at the left hand side will be the bus terminal. Not far from the bus terminal, there is a bridge and from the bridge, you can have a nice harbour view. Owing to the cconstruction started summer 1996, you have to make a big turn from the North Exit of the Terminal Station in order to reach there.

If you walk straight from the Terminal Station, you will reach '5th Corner' where the Artica Hotel, Meridient Hotel and big department store are centering here.

Trolly Bus No. 3 will be the best idea for you to explore the whole Murmansk as it will brings you to 70m - 100m high hill side at north where you can have a very nice PANORAMA Murmansk City view. The best viewing point believe locates at 40m above sea level where you can find a big status of *Alusya Manument*. This manument is the memorial status to the Army who died during the 2nd world War to defent the city of Murmansk. Bus no. 4 departs at front of the Terminal Station. When drives through the hill area, you will see there is a lake at your left hand side, once you see the lake, alight from bus, face to the north and walk along the lake for about 15 minutes, you will reach Alusya Manument.
