Very interesting and unusual destination. Glad to know it's open for foreign visitors now. May I ask you where did you stay there?
Unfortunately the flights from Alaska were discontinued. The Russians call the "obasans" by another funny name: "babushka"
sasuga itteraisshaimashita! Now I know about modes of transportation there in case we go to visit our northern neighbours one day.
I'd read somewhere that Sakhalin was closed to tourism, but you've proved me wrong! It looks interesting, but maybe a bit...erm...bleak and wet! ;@P
