Binh Dinh Province has a lot to offer someone who wants to sample the variety of rural Vietnam. The coastal area is populated by shrimp farms, fishing villages, beach resorts and even a dune area that could be called Vietnam's only desert. Inland, are rice farms and ancient towers built by the Cham people. Unlike the cities, cars are rare, bicycles are popular and beasts of burden share the farmwork with tractors and humans. You get a sense of the pulse of Vietnam here -- since the country is mostly rural.
