The Seoul Millenium Hilton is a good hotel to stay in on a business trip as long as you are on some sort of per diem. Everything here is of high quality -- and you pay for it. The service is fantastic and the rooms are large (some with internet). There are several bars and restaurants on the premisis and the Hilton boasts that it has the biggest Christmas Tree in Seoul. At the same time, like all big hotels it can be impersonal (which is fine if you just want to be lost in the crowd after a stressful day). It's Areno lounge is very popular with Russian models on lady's night (Wednesday). A few recommendations for all but the super rich: don't use the laundry and the same stuff that sells for exorbinate fees from the minibar can be had from the shopette across the street.

Seoul Grand Hyatt: A TopEnd Business Hotel That is too Isolated

The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul has many advantages and is a wonderful place to stay. The service is great and the rooms are well-appointed, thoug small. It has an unsurpassable view, especially at night when the neon of Seoul emerges. It has an excellent outdoor pool in the summer and a skating rink in the winter, and several indoor opportunities like a gym, restaurants and bars. However, given a choice of equivelent hotels, I rarely choose the Hyatt. For me, it is too isolated, a decent walk down a steep hill (and back up it when you're done -- not a happy experience in Seoul's saturated summer air) to anything -- including the subway. Since I like to spend more time roaming the city then enjoying the hotel, that is a huge drawback for me.

But I also started since I saw my Korean friend slice different veggies and meat with it. How convenient! | Pixiekatten Mon Jan 1, 2007 18:47 UTC Thanks for the card! :))) Had to come back to this excellent page and read some more great tips!! |
