"National Park Loonse and Drunense dunes" Drunen by Journey2Holland

Drunen Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 6 photos

Every year I come several times to this National Park for mountainbiking and sometimes for hiking. I like the combination of sandy dunes, heathland and forest.

There are several routes for hiking and cycling inside the park and one 25km mountainbike route. Bicycles can be rented at places around the park and there also are several eateries where you can go for a meal or drink.

Tourists could combine a visit to the Loonse and Drunense dunes with a visit to themepark Efteling, located in Kaatsheuvel, which is next to the National Park.

History

The Drunense dunes, south of Drunen, is a beautiful National Park and great place to go for hiking, cycling or mountain biking. Dunes usually can be found near the sea, but these dunes are located in the middle of the country since the Middle Ages, which makes it unique.
