I spent 6 days on Hawaii (O'ahu), on my way from Thailand to south America. My impression are as follows:
1. VERY American!
2. Expensive!
3. The largest and most commercial tourism machinery I've ever seen.
In other words, not a place I will go back, but other people seemed to enjoy it... Especially the Americans. But I am a young, free and single male who likes to party, meet new people and do some adventure travelling. This place is too much of a tourist industry for that, but it was a relaxing week and probably a nescesary brake between The far east and South America.
Am i critical? Maybe... But I think we are alowed to be!
In advance I was recommended to stay away from the Big Island and visit the smaller ones. I did the opposite and stayed only on the big Island. Maybe thats why...
