this hotel was a timeshare exchange for me but is open to others as well. i had a studio on the eighth floor with a small terrace and a lovely view of the swimming pool area and the ocean. there are two couches in the main living area; the wall behind one of them hides a double murphy bed (folds down from the wall). there are a clock/radio and a TV with remote control (issued at the desk). the air conditioning works very well. there is a fair amount of closet space.
the kitchen has a microwave, coffeemaker, blender, and toaster, plus refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and oven. dishes, glasses, silverware, and pots, plus paper towels and dishwasher powder, are supplied. there is a small dining table with four chairs. mirrors on various walls and closet doors make the space seem larger. in this studio, the total space was fine for one person and would be manageable for two, but would be crowded for three or more.
the hotel provides four large bath towels, four large hand towels, four washcloths, and four large beach towels. there is soap, but NO SHAMPOO. the bathroom has lots of hot water.
unfortunately, there is only one elevator in the main building, where i was. the hotel has other wings, but i did not explore them.
between the hotel and the ocean are a pool and a whirlpool as well as tables and chairs and a small outside snack bar (with wine, beer, and mixed drinks), open till at least 10 pm, maybe later. there is an indoor bar/restaurant overlooking the beach.
beyond the pool area there are beach chairs with umbrellas, evidently for rent. there were also chairs out right on the beach, tho, that seemed to be free for anyone's use.
the hotel staff are very friendly and responsive.
Unique Qualities: this was a very pleasant week for me. in the evenings, i sat on a beach chair right where the waves came in and enjoyed the breeze.
this seems to be a very family-friendly hotel, but it was not noisy.
between roughly march and june, the sea turtles come up on the beach at night to lay their eggs. known nesting areas are roped off, and state law provides very strict penalties for disturbing them. inside lights are supposed to be turned off if they can be seen thru windows (but the rooms have blinds to shield them), because the lights can disorient both the mothers and the hatchlings. it is magical to see the nesting area during the day -- the marks in the sand made by the mother turtles look like a single tractor tire track. everyone was very respectful of the turtle nesting areas, as far as i could tell.
i walked along the beach on a couple of afternoons. it is much cooler by the ocean than at the swimming pool area because of the breeze over the waves. the sand is very hot, tho, so bring expendable sandals or beach shoes!
